In August my youngest brother, Jacob, got married to an awesome girl, Janette, in the San Diego temple. We were able to go down a few days early and have some super fun family time before the wedding. This was seriously such a fun trip, we had a blast!!! We're so grateful that we were able to be there for Jacob and Janette's special day, they make a beautiful couple! The first day we arrived we went and explored Old Town a little bit and had some mexican food. Then later that day we drove to Janette's parents house to meet them and the rest of her family. None of us had met any of them yet and they made authentic mexican food for us. It was SO delicious! It was so much fun to get to know all of them and to feel so welcome into their beautiful home. The next day we got to go to the San Diego Zoo. It was a really hot day, but a lot of fun to see all the animals that they had and to spend time as a family. The next day we went and toured the Midway, a big aircraft carrier ship that was used in WWII. Afterwards we spent the rest of the day at the beach. That was probably our favorite thing we did. We all had so much fun playing in the sand and the waves. It was a gorgeous day and Coronado Beach is so beautiful. The next day was the wedding and reception. The San Diego temple is gorgeous!!! And the reception was the most fun I've ever had at a reception. There were some cultural traditions that they did that were fun to see and the location was absolutely breathtaking. By far one of the most memorable receptions we'll probably ever go to. The next day was Sunday and it was good to finally relax a little bit. We didn't leave the reception the night before until almost midnight and the boys were pretty much awake that entire time, so you can imagine the kind of melt downs I was preparing for ha ha. We went to sacrament the next day at a ward close by and the boys were a little bit beside themselves so we decided to come home after and have them take a nap. They slept for a good 3-4 hours! Once we woke up we went over to Old Towne again and visited the church's visitors center or the Mormon Batallion Center I think they might call it. It was really neat to learn more about that. We found some Bingham ancestors on the computer there and they had a cute little interactive play area for the kids. We flew home the next day and were sad to leave. It was such a fun trip, thanks for making it possible Dad and Mom!
