Labor Day and Mom's Visit

Labor Day weekend we went camping with some good friends of ours. It was so fun to have a whole weekend with just us as a family! We drove up to Sun Valley the first day because we had a reception to go to. We stopped at Craters of the Moon on the way there and then went out to a Mexican Restaurant. They had some flea markets set up around town so we stopped and wandered around those for awhile. Then we went to Tyrel's cousins reception and then headed back to camping. The next day we attended a nearby ward and then came back and enjoyed a good Sunday nap! Our friends made a delicious dutch oven dinner that night! We played some horse shoes (girls against guys) and then made a fire and enjoyed some delicious smores! Its not camping without smores in my opinion! The next day we headed out pretty early to do a 45 mile ride up a canyon and back. This was my first BIG dirtbike ride and the farthest I have ever rode at one time on my dirtbike. Tyrel borrowed his Dad's rhino so that we could strap Tytyn's carseat into it. The rest of us rode our dirtbikes. It was pretty challenging. We had to cross 3-4 creeks and do some serious climbs on treacherous paths. I was a little nervous some of the time, especially coming down. I wrecked twice and got a little banged up so I had Tyrel take over and ride my bike a little of the way. All in all it was a really fun and pretty ride! I learned alot about what I can talk myself into and what I can accomplish with just a little self motivation. Tyrel was really supportive and without his encouragement I know I would have given up many times. By the time we got back from our ride it was already time to pack up and leave for home. I can't believe how fast time flies, but it sure was a fun weekend! Tytyn was especially sad to come home, he LOVES being outside!

 Then the Wednesday after Labor Day my Mom and brother, Jacob came to visit. Jacob started college at BYU-I today. So they were driving this way to take him to school. My Mom moved him in on Thursday and then came back that night and stayed with us until Sunday afternoon. We did lots of shopping, canning, visiting, and went to see the movie "The Help." Its always fun having my Mom here, I miss having her closer to me. She was so nice to watch Tytyn for us one night while we went on an overnight date. Thanks Mom! And she helped me can lots of peach pie filling and salsa! I forgot how much I love my Mom's salsa, it'll be a nice addition to our food storage! Thanks for all of your help with the canning too Mom! She is seriously the best Mom ever! She is always so willing to help and give of her time and talents! Tytyn loves her and was sad to see her go as well. Now back to real life today.
