We went on another super fun camping trip in June to Mackay Idaho. The guy who owns the property and lives there is an old bishop from Tyrel's ward when he was growing up. He has such a cool set up that for years our ward has done their Father and Son trips there even though he isn't in our ward anymore, it's become a tradition. Its just a really fun place to camp. Not only that, but his hobby is restoring and collecting old tractors and farm equipment so he has a huge shop just full of really cool farm stuff. His yard is set up like an over the top camp ground with all sorts of play equipment, a big firepit with a covered area, a really pretty stream that runs through it all and so many trails right close by to ride all your toys on. Needless to say our boys were in heaven! Upon arriving we found out that they were basically having a family reunion of sorts for the Grandma's birthday and we were the only ones there that weren't technically family. They assured us that we were family to them and we were honored to spend the weekend with our good friends whom we love! Also at the end of June we welcomed a new little nephew into the family! Logan and Karissa had their first child and named him McCoy. He is so stinking cute and I wish they still lived close so I could snuggle and smooch on him more!

This guy is so talented that he doesn't just fix stuff up, all of it can start up and run if you wanted it to! |
 |
Halter immediately found all the small ones he could fit on :) |
 |
One of the activities was tractor rides for the kids, they loved it! |
 |
I seriously have the cutest boys!!! |

We rode up into the Challis National Forest where they knew of an old rope swing thats been there for years and years. We had to go up and try it. It's probably the most intense rope swing I've ever been on. Its on a huge downward slope and so as you kick off it gets you up so high and then you have to try and land just right as you come back around on the higher part of the slope. I am not as much of a risk taker as I used to be, but I tried it once and it was pretty fun! Tyrel did it several times and it always scared me to watch him! |

Tyrel and Mac helped Tytyn go around once, just nice and slow. |

Me! |

Tyrel and Tytyn hiked up to this cave. Come to find out there was stinging nettle everywhere so most of them came back with that, including Tytyn. He wasn't very happy! We'll know better what to watch for next time. It's amazing how something so innocent looking can be so painful to just barely touch! |
 |
He wanted to make it to the cave though despite the crying and pain he was in. |
 |
It was so beautiful there!!! |

We drove up for a quick day trip to see our new little nephew and cousin. We drove up with Kindra and fortunately were smart enough to pack a lunch and a bunch of water because we had a tire blowout on the way there. We had to wait for some help on the side of the road for quite awhiel and it was HOT!!! But we had a nice picnic lunch and were able to keep the boys pretty happy until help came. |
 |
After being in the car for so long Halter didn't sit still at all to hold the baby, but Tytyn was thrilled to hold him. He sure is a cutie!!! |

Sweet little family :) |
That place you stayed at in MacKay looks amazing. I could see how it would be a little boys paradise!! He has quite the collection. Did he make those cool barrel cars for kids to ride in??
ReplyDeleteI would not have been brave enough to do that rope swing, but it looks way fun. Glad you had some fun family time!
So happy for Logan and Karisa.
Looks like a fun place to camp. That rope swing looks kinda scary. Bet when your boys are a little older they'd go crazy on it!
