First day of school and the Eastern Idaho State Fair (September)

Tytyn's first day of school. Tyrel's Aunt Connie is the pre-school teacher at the elementary school where Tytyn will go to school this year. She does a pre-school for kids with speech problems, autism, down syndrome, etc. Every fall and winter they accept 2 peer models that join the pre-school with the other children. Throughout the school year their hope is that the peer models will be positive role models to the other children on all sorts of different levels; attention spans, listening skills, speech and socially acceptable behavior in general. Tytyn LOVED school and learned SO much. I had to drive him to school Monday-Thursday and would just wait for him since it was only a little over 2 hours long. Halter and I walked for a good portion of the time until it got too cold to do so. We would run errands or sit in the car and read and play. They actually invited Tytyn to come back in the winter too because all the teachers and kids loved him so much. I almost immediately agreed, but figured I should think about it a little bit first. After a lot of thought and prayer I decided to not send him back for a lot of different reasons. He loved it and was learning so much, but the biggest reason was I realized that this was my last time to have him home with me ever! And it will be the only time I'll have my 2 boys at home together with me. Once he starts kindergarten he will always be in school and I know I will miss having my babies home with me once they are gone. This thought always came to me every time I prayed about it so I just needed to follow what the Spirit was telling me to do, which was to keep him home. It was actually a really hard decision. I know I could have sent him back to school and had many positive results that way too, but it's been really nice having him home with us again. It helped ease me into the waters too of having a child in school. I've been really nervous about sending him to kindergarten. They started doing full day kindergarten here so I won't even have a year of half days to get me used to it. So we will enjoy the time we have together now, it goes so fast!

"I'm snuggling with my brother Mom, take a picture!"

My cute little fuzz head.

We went to the fair 2 days this year. We haven't been to the fair since we've had Tytyn, so it's been a few years! He had so much fun!

Here's Tytyn feeding the goats, I think he did this itleast 3 times.

Milking a cow.

Playing in a box of corn kernels.

The drumline asked for volunteers in the crowd to come and play with them. Tytyn raised his hand of course and got to go play on the drums, he thought that was pretty awesome!

Halter was at the fair too, he just spent most of his time in the shade of the stroller.

This is called a "Bull's Eye burger. It a burger on donuts if you can't tell. It didn't tempt me at all, but Tyrel wanted to try it. He said it was ok. It looks like a stomach ache waiting to happen!

We went to the horse races both of the days we went to the fair. Our favorite races are the Indian relay races. If you haven't heard of them you should youtube it, but they are so much more fun to watch in person. Each tribe has a team of one rider and 3 horses. There are 3 laps and the rider rides bareback. He starts out on one horse and when that lap is finished he just jumps off and hops onto the next one that a team member has ready for him. They are just so crazy to watch because there are always crazy wrecks and very talented riders. If you ever want to come and watch them the Eastern Idaho State Fair always starts the first weekend in September and lasts the whole week.

  1. Cute pictures of the kids! I know you won't regret having Tytyn stay home. I didn't realize you had all day kindergarten either. I'm thinking we need to come over and go to the Indian relay races with you guys. They sound fun to watch. Glad you had a new post….we'll look forward to another one soon!!

  3. The boys said the doughnut burger looks silly. We loved seeing the cute pics of your boys. Tytyn looks so cute all dressed up for school. I'm sure you made the right decision keeping him home. I didn't know you have to do all day kindergarten. Miss you!
