We had a pretty quiet, but very nice Easter this year. The last 2 years we had family visit us for Easter, but this year it was just the 3 of us. We had a nice day at church and at home just being together. I watched a bunch of Easter videos with Tytyn on lds.org and talked to him a lot about what Easter is about. It's amazing how much he understands and comprehends, even at such a young age. When he woke up Easter morning we told him that he had a fun surprise that he needed to find somewhere in the house (his Easter basket). He was really excited to find such a cool surprise because I hadn't said anything to him leading up to Easter about baskets, eggs, or the Easter bunny. I wanted him to be able to really learn a lot this year about why we celebrate Easter and not focus too much on "Easter bunny" stuff. We had some friends over that night for treats and a small Easter egg hunt, which was fun. Easter night after Tytyn had gone to bed I found out that a good friend of mine growing up, her little boy passed away that day. My heart just ached for her! I couldn't help but go into Tytyn's room and hold him for a long time that night. I was so sick about it for days and finally wrote her a note. I struggle with what to even say, but I wanted her to know that I knew and was praying for her. She actually wrote me back within a day or two, and considering the circumstances, seemed to be doing ok and told me that she had been given a lot of peace about the situation. I was glad to hear from her. I can't even begin to imagine the pain of losing a child. She just found out a couple weeks ago that they are expecting again! What a blessing! Hope you all had a great Easter!

Our tulips had bloomed just in time for Easter! |
It's nice you are catching up on your family news. Congratulations on the new baby. We're anxious to see more pictures.
ReplyDeleteSome how I missed this post. Glad you had a nice Easter and that Tytyn will learn at a young age the "true" meaning of Easter.
ReplyDeleteTytyn is going to have so much fun teaching his little brother all these important lessons.
