Mom's Visit in April

My wonderful Mother came to visit us in April. She came to help me get some cleaning and packing done, which was much appreciated! We had fun just being together and of course Tytyn is always THRILLED when Grandma comes! We went on walks, went to the park, did some packing and cleaning, and just visited. It was fun to have her with us, thanks for coming Mom!

About a month a half to go at this point!

We went to a reptile show at the library and my wonderful Mother volunteered me to help. I didn't know what I would be helping with, but to my "delight" I was able to help hold  this HUGE snake! Fortunately I'm not that scared or grossed out by snakes, but if it would have been a tarantula I would have ran out of the room screaming!

This monster was HEAVY!!! I didn't feel very good about lifting that much weight being as pregnant as I was so I slacked off a little and let the other 3 do most of the lifting (which they didn't know about.) I was just feeling grateful that I wasn't on one of the ends. The snakes head was going a little crazy and as you can see on the other end that little boy was a little worried that his Mom's leg was being strangled by the snakes tail end.

This was the only interaction Tytyn had with any of the reptiles. ha ha

My Mom was explaining to Tytyn that she had to leave and he wasn't very happy about it as you can see.

We got a smile out of him eventually.

Easter 2014

We had a pretty quiet, but very nice Easter this year. The last 2 years we had family visit us for Easter, but this year it was just the 3 of us. We had a nice day at church and at home just being together. I watched a bunch of Easter videos with Tytyn on lds.org and talked to him a lot about what Easter is about. It's amazing how much he understands and comprehends, even at such a young age. When he woke up Easter morning we told him that he had a fun surprise that he needed to find somewhere in the house (his Easter basket). He was really excited to find such a cool surprise because I hadn't said anything to him leading up to Easter about baskets, eggs, or the Easter bunny. I wanted him to be able to really learn a lot this year about why we celebrate Easter and not focus too much on "Easter bunny" stuff. We had some friends over that night for treats and a small Easter egg hunt, which was fun. Easter night after Tytyn had gone to bed I found out that a good friend of mine growing up, her little boy passed away that day. My heart just ached for her! I couldn't help but go into Tytyn's room and hold him for a long time that night. I was so sick about it for days and finally wrote her a note. I struggle with what to even say, but I wanted her to know that I knew and was praying for her. She actually wrote me back within a day or two, and considering the circumstances, seemed to be doing ok and told me that she had been given a lot of peace about the situation. I was glad to hear from her. I can't even begin to imagine the pain of losing a child. She just found out a couple weeks ago that they are expecting again! What a blessing! Hope you all had a great Easter!

This is after Tytyn found his basket.

And his new thing after each picture is "ok Mom now take a funny face picture." ha ha

Our tulips had bloomed just in time for Easter!
