Here and There

I thought September would be the month that things slowed down, but I should have known better. It has been SO crazy, but we've had lots of fun!

Tytyn trying out my flip flops.

Last Saturday we went and gather wood. We went with 2 other families and all helped each other. It was nice to have more manpower to get it all done faster. We have 2 wood burning stoves in our house and are going to use them this winter instead of our central heat.

I've been canning a ton! Salsa, peaches, peach filling, pears, pear sauce, applesauce and apple filling. And today I made a 5 loaves of bread to keep in the freezer and another batch of strawberry banana freezer jam (the best ever!) There's something about fall time that gets me all ready to get my family prepared for the winter.

This is Tytyn and his best buddy Draker. They were hanging out while me and his mom and another friend were having a craft day.

This is the fall wreath that I made for our front door! I'm excited how it turned out, I'd never made a wreath before, it was so much fun!

I don't think I've ever mentioned anything about our great friends that live here now. Tyrel helped him get a job out where he is working and so they moved up here a month or two after we did. The funny thing is they were born and raised and have always lived in Blackfoot. Tyrel knew them a little, but I had never met either of them. So when they came out to interview for the job they came over for dinner and me and (Laressa) became instant besties! Its so nice to have someone here to hang out with alot. She has 2 adorable kids, a girl and a boy and is pregnant with a girl! I really haven't had a whole lot of good close friends in the past few years and its so nice to be making good friends here that we can hang out with often and make good memories with. Hope everyone is doing well! Happy Harvest everyone!!!

Labor Day Weekend

We had a really fun Labor day weekend! We were able to go to Bear Lake for a couple days and then went to Blackfoot to be with Tyrel's family for a couple of days. It was fun to just be together!

Playing some mini golf.

He had it out for a squirrel!

Running around having a blast on the beach even though it was kind of cold.

He LOVES to swing! Higher, higher, higher is all he says.

We're still trying to teach him how to ride his bike, but his little legs just aren't quite strong enough to push the pedals.

We did lots of swimming! He got really brave our last day there and jumped in a bunch without us catching him. We gave him some mini swim lessons and he learned to float on his back as well.

The family met us up at Bloomington Lake. We rode our dirt bikes and rhinos most of the way in and then hiked the last little bit. It was really  fun to all do something together as a family. All of the boys jumped off the rope swing into the lake even though at that point it was sprinkling and kind of cold, we made good memories and thats all that matters! Tytyn rode on his Nani's lap in the rhino the whole time and loved every minute of it!

Mom's Visit

A week ago Saturday my wonderful Mother came to stay with us for a few days! It was so fun having her here! Tytyn absolutely adores his Grandma! We had decided that we were going to try and get lots of canning done while she was here. This is the 3rd year she has come and helped me with alot of my canning, I am so grateful! We did salsa, peaches, and peach filling! Usually when I get together with my Mom we do itleast 1 full day of shopping if not more, but I'm living in Vernal now. And if any of you have been to Vernal you know theres not many places to shop. I know what its like to live far away from good shopping, but theres always been itleast a mall within an hour away....not here. Grand Junction is 2-2 1/2 hours away and Salt Lake is about 2 1/2-3 hours away. Regardless it was fun to have her here and make some fun memories with my Mom. Thanks for coming Mom! It was so much fun and we really appreciate all you and Dad do for us! Love and miss you!

My beautiful Mother helping me can.

3 batches of salsa, yum!

The finished product!

This is what Tytyn did alot of the time we were canning. This was Tyrel's when he was younger and Tytyn LOVES it!

Peaches!

Some of my canned goods! I am so grateful I had a Mother who taught me how to do these things.

We were very sad to see her go!
