Our weekend

Our weekend consisted of working more in our backyard all day Friday and Saturday. We finally got EVERYTHING cleared! Then Tyrel did lots of moving dirt and smoothing. It feels good to be that far even though we still have a long ways to go. The lady we bought the house from had totally just let the backyard go. It was completely dead and there was garbage everywhere. All the bushes were overgrown and ugly so it just all had to go and now we are starting from scratch. Tyrel and I have callings in our new ward now. He got called into Young Mens to be over the deacons again, which was his calling in our last ward. He was actually pretty excited about it, he likes hanging out with the young men. I got called to be the primary chorister and I absolutely LOVE it. It is SO much fun! I have literally been in primary since I graduated high school minus a short 2 month stint in young womens. But I love it so much, primary is the place to be for me! So Sunday after church we decided to head to Salt Lake. There just isn't sufficient shopping for certain things in Vernal and we wanted to visit both of my grandparents. We stayed the night at my Grandpa and Grandma Kendall's house. Then the next morning we went to visit my Grandma Larsen. I haven't seen my Grandma Larsen in quite awhile, not since she hasn't been in her own house. It was so good to see her and we had a really nice visit. Tytyn was really cute with her and loved hanging out with another Grandma! He was under a year old when my Grandpa passed away. My Grandma has a picture of him in her room and Tytyn went right up to the picture and said "thats Grandpa!" Grandma really teared up and thought it was really neat that he knew his Great Grandpa. I've never showed him pictures of him so I'm not sure how he knew, I'll bet Grandpa has watched over him a time or two. I thought of the picture below when Tytyn went and pointed to the picture of Grandpa. We sure miss him.

Tytyn came in the house one day this week and said "I all dirty Mama."

Tytyn being Daddy's big helper, there's no where he'd rather be then on his Dad's lap in a piece of equipment.

Homemade Fruit Snacks!

I was skeptical when I learned that you could actually make homemade fruit snacks. But I was willing to try them and I am so glad I did! They are SO SUPER easy! I haven't done the math yet, but I'm curious to know if they would be more cost efficient. This whole batch costed me $1.36. It makes me feel better to know exactly what my baby boy is eating, maybe next time I'll try sugar free and see how those taste.

The finished product.

2 of the 3 ingredients (the other is water)

I had to have him try them as soon as he woke up from his nap.

He liked them and kept saying "more frui sna mama please!"

Here is the link if you want to try them. Let me know if you do and how you and your little ones like them!!!

Our new home.......and other things!

This is mainly a picture post so bear with me. People have been asking for pictures of the new house, so here they are! We were able to save the front yard. The backyard will have to be completely re-done, but I was able to bring the front lawn back to life with lots of water and regular mowing. I weeded and cleaned out all the flower beds and trimmed all the bushes. I also hauled off a big weird looking rock garden she had in the front yard. I should have taken before pics as well, but I am pretty pleased with how it looks now compared to how it did. There's also a few other pictures of some other things we've been up to. If any of you are just passing through or visiting Vernal for some odd reason ha ha, you are more than welcome to stay with us!

The whole upper level of our house is covered by this gorgeous tree, but that just means we have shade in our front yard all the time, which is nice.

One of the main things I love about buying an older house is all of the mature foliage that you get with it!

2 car garage

This is a driveway on the side of the garage that leads to a gate to get into our backyard. There is a cement pad back there that we keep our trailers on.

Here are some super healthy muffins Tytyn and I made one morning. And I'm not being sarcastic when I say these are healthy, they are about as good for you as a muffin can get.

We enjoy a berry protein shake quite often. Tytyn especially likes them as you can tell from his smoothie goatee.

Making a milk rainbow.

This wasn't an activity that held his attention for too long so we probably won't be doing it again, but it was fun for one time.

Here are our sweet puppies. They are only about 3-4 months old even though they look quite big. They are brother and sister from the same litter. They fight like brother and sister about 10% of the time, but the other 90% they do cute stuff like this. We sure love having them be part of our family.

Being the Mother of Tytyn

This is Tytyn's best little buddy whom he named Mator (from the movie Cars)
We actually also have Mator's sister whom Tytyn loves even more. Her name is Matilda.
He gets along with them really well and loves to be outside playing with them
all the time!
Being the Mother of Tytyn is honestly the best job EVER! But I'm not going to lie, there are days that I find my blood boiling, I want to pull my hair out, and I look at him and think what am I going to do with this little guy?! I wouldn't trade him or having the privilege of being a Mother for anything though. I've been trying to take more pictures of the funny situations he gets into so that I can remember them and hopefully laugh about them later.
This day I was in the shower and apparently the fruit bowl was not enough out of reach. He had opened 4 bananas and eaten halves, thrown some away and had fun smashing one and then left some on the counter for me to find. He also rubbed his banana hands all over our BRAND new sectional that had only been delivered and set up and hour earlier. Fortunately I caught that in time and was able to scrub it out.

This was a day I found my blood absolutely BOILING! I was inside stripping the beds so that I could wash sheets and I could hear him outside just laughing and having a grand old time so I let him be for awhile. Well I kept getting that motherly instinct to go and check on him and so I finally did and this is what I found. This is not even HALF of the damage! He had thrown handfuls of dog food EVERYWHERE!!! It was all over the car and in every little nook and cranny of our garage. It took forever to clean up and make sure I got every little piece so that we wouldn't get a mouse infested garage.

This little boy loves to help with anything and everything. This was before we moved into our house.  We had to  cover everything with killzprimer because the lady we bought the house from had cats and at one point a big dog in the house. We couldn't believe how bad the house smelled of cat and urine once she was all the way moved out and wasn't there to spray her febreeze anymore. But after lots of killzprimer, paint, and all new carpet there are no more nasty smells!!!

And for all of you that keep telling me to post pics of our house. Don't worry they are coming! All I have to do is upload them from my other camera which has been out of commission for awhile, but is working again.
